Hello fellow Spiceheads!I'm hoping to find some assistance with a Fujitsu fi-6140 scanner that we have deployed. A user is operating on Windows XP and she claims that at one point in time, she could scan pages double-sided but now all of the sudden cannot do so. It will only scan one side of a page at a time - versus double sided. When I asked her when was the last time it worked, she couldn't remember - told me about one month ago.I am not an expert with regard to these devices but to troubleshoot I have only done a couple of things. Uninstall the drivers, reboot the pc and reinstall the latest drivers. Nothing changed. I am using the latest TWAIN drivers from.

Again, the scanner will scan one side of a page at a time but will not scan double sided for whatever reason. After you scan one side of a page, an error message comes up and says,'Scanning error, failed to read image provided by scanner: error code = 1'You click the OK button and that's it. I'm kind of at a loss here with these devices and that error message. Appreciate the help! Hello.I would firstly recommend going into the driver settings and checking that you have duplex scanning enabled. We had an issue with our 5530, that the drivers had 'lost' its setting to scan duplex.

We also installed the Kofax VRS driver, that automatically removed blank pages from scans, and auto rotated the files aswell. Aswell as scanning to searchable PDFI'm currently unable to walk you through the driver settings as I'm sat at home at the moment without one of these scanners in front of me. I can go to work tomorrow and check on one of our computers with these devices plugged in if you like and respond back with my findings?If you can't wait, check the driver settings under imaging devices and make sure duplex is selected.Edit.

Just occured to me, I believe these devices have like a button or a lever somewhere that can also force to not scan in duplex, I may be wrong, but I think we have had this issue aswell and an engineer did something with a button or something. So check the physical machine aswell and see if there is any physical thing you can change.
