Behind you sits a resort, one overflowing with the beauty and elegance of colonial Mexico. You dip your toes into the sand, beckoning it to massage, rehabilitate, your worn-out tootsies as a waft of sweet sea air washes over you. You take a sip of your mojito and realize, all your worries have vanished. What caused this? Welcome Homefrom the moment we stepped out of the taxi, we were treated like we've been going there for years.

With a 'Welcome home' from staff, and glass of champagne - we knew we were in for a great vacation. Spent a day at both pools.

The main pool was exciting and full of organized activities for all age levels. The adult pool was quiet and relaxing.

Grand Velas Cabo Reviews

It is hard to find a lounge chair at either if you get there past 11 am, but if you're like us, and spend most of your time in the water, it doesn't much matter. Always clean pool towels available. Bartenders were friendly and accommodating. The rooms were large and comfortable. My favorite thing each day was 'turn-down service'. I loved coming back to the room each night to find a relaxed and inviting environment.

Big roomy showers with clothes lines for swimsuits. Wish there was a dresser with drawers for clothes. My partner lived out of his suitcase since there was no room for him to store his belongings - barely enough for me. Loved the food at World Cafe - always a delicious mix of American and Mexican.

The nightly entertainment was amazing with our favorite being the Mexican market and fiesta. Best drinks are made at the Rendezvous (lobby) bar. The kids loved dinner at Oceana.

The beach was beautiful. Just 2 resorts down to a swimming beach with a life guard. My only complaint would be the service at Barefoot bar and Grill (beach bar).

It was hard to get service - the kids had a better experience - but I did not get service for over 15 minutes on each of the 3 times I tried going there. All-in-all a very nice resort.

Beware that it is located halfway between Cabo San Lucas and San Jose del Cabo, so you will need to taxi to shops, restaurants, and other attractions.0 of 0 found this helpful. Service great Food not so good Pool too coldHaving been to Secrets Puerto Los Cabos 6 times I was expecting the Dreams to be the same great resort. Not 5 stars, more like 3 stars. The service is great. The people are what make this place. The food was not great.

Oceana was the better of the restaurants. Portofino Italian Osso Bucco was so tough we couldnt get the meat off the bone.

Bordeaux French not much better. The first room they put us in was facing the construction next door. We moved to the quiet side near the adult pool. Until the 6am toddler screaming in the adjoining room. Why would you put a 2 yr old on the side ofthe adult side? And the Dad started playing his music loudly. So we moved again. The front desk was very understanding and showed us 2 rooms before choosing. The pool water was freezing.

I could not get in it the whole week! This resort is 19yrs old and there are cosmetic issues in public places that have been neglected. I wont recommend this resort because I know Secrets is my BEST Resort.0 of 0 found this helpful. There are plenty of activities for all ages to do at the resort. In the town, there's even more to do. They have snorkeling, diving, swim with dolphins outside of the resort.

At the resort, they have beach volleyball, water volleyball, bocci ball, movies on the beach nightly, nightly entertainment for all ages, putting green, can arrange golf trips, horseback riding right outside the complex, and many other activities that are too many to remember. I think your family would enjoy their stay very much. There is tennis, a gym, a nightclub (although we never went to it and I have no idea of age requirements for that). There is also a little putting green for golfing, and sand volleyball.

They have entertainment staff that encourage people to participate in all of those activities as well as a daily water volleyball game in the pool. However, I will say that, at least when we were there, I didn't see any teenage boys. I brought my 17 year old daughter and she loved it, but our only plan was to relax by the pool and purposely not do anything. It was perfect for that! Most of the kids we saw were 10 or younger. None in their teens. Most resorts have a dress code for dinner, however each resort is different as to what they expect.

The problem is that the shore drops off quick so the undertow is dramatic. It is not safe to swim. My wife and I walked up to let the waves come in and get our feet wet. But you need to pay attention - the next wave could actually sneak up on you a little higher - and even as an adult, you need to brace and be ready for undertow. I wouldn't let my kids get in there.

It is beautiful and the sand is awesome. Also note - this is true for all the resorts as far as we could see up and Down the coast line there. That seems to be just how it is along that shoreline. There were people offering horse rides and stuff like that along the shore - that looked fun. At this resort, all-inclusive means the following. We stayed at Dreams Los Cabos and all inclusive meant all meals, except for lobster, and all drinks except for bottles of wine (but you can have wine by the glass, they had a house wine). Breakfast was an open buffet like everywhere else and then for lunch and dinner, you could go to any of their 4 or 5 restaurants and eat, the menus didn't even have prices. You could also eat by the pool for lunch if you wanted, there was a barefoot grill next to it and you could take pizzas or burgers with you and sit by the pool. Rated 5 out of5 byDaniJQ fromQuintessential Tropical beach vacation When I picture what a tropical beach should look like, it’s Playa Conchal. The ground of The Westin were meticulously maintained. The pool was clean. The restaurants were well appointed and the service was exceptional. We loved that even though everyone spoke English, the staff encouraged you to speak Spanish. Thank you for that! Xinia our chambermaid was exceptional as well.

She would ask when would she should come back to service the room in the morning when she dropped off the daily schedule. The entire resort was well maintained. We would stay at another Westin resort in the future. Thank you for the exceptional welcome, stay and departure.
